What are "backward compatible" video games?

Image
Backward compatible games are legacy titles that can be played on newer versions of platforms - some may be remastered or enhanced for the latest generations of consoles, here is a list of examples:
  • Xbox 360 games can be played on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

  • PlayStation 4 games can be played on PlayStation 5 consoles.

  • Nintendo Wii games can be played on Wii U consoles.

If a game is marked as "Xbox 360" on our website for example, it could (potentially) be played on newer generation consoles e.g. Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S. Please note, not all games are "backwards compatible" - always check if the title supports it before purchasing.
