Two playable factions, the Asmodians and the Elyos, inhabit the two halves of the shattered world of Atreia, battling one another for ultimate control over Atreia. The Asmodians are a brave, hardy, strong-willed people that are generous and fiercely loyal to their own, but fight ferociously against outsiders. The Elyos are a beautiful and radiant people, but have become arrogant, seeing their beautiful forms and their lands as an entitlement. Your adventure begins with you choosing a side - will you join the fight with the Elyos or pledge your allegiance to the Asmodians? Next, choose a class - your choice will define the fundamental abilities and role of your character in Aion, especially in a combat situation. You select one class from four to begin: Warrior, Scout, Mage, or Priest. At level 10, your character must select a subclass. Nearly every class offers two subclasses.
